BUSES: THE GOVERNMENT'S RESPONSE TO THE 2ND REPORT FROM THE HOUSE OF COMMONS TRANSPORT COMMITTEE, SESSION 1984-85

The Transport Select Committee's report on the white paper "Buses" (CMND 9300) was published in February 1985. The committee's inquiry reviewed the proposals in the white paper against the historical background, heard evidence from local authority associations, trade unions, representatives of the industry, from other interested parties and from ministers and officials of the Department of Transport. This white paper sets out the government's view on the committee's proposal for an alternative policy and on the major issues discussed in the committee's report. An annex deals with the many other matters raised by the committee. (TRRL)
