AUTOMATIC ANODE CATHODIC PROTECTION FOR MARINE AND OFFSHORE STRUCTURES
Field experience has shown that improvement is needed in techniques of cathodically protecting marine heat exchangers, condensers, and similar structures. This paper discusses studies to determine design criteria, cathode current density, anode geometry, reference electrode control location, and component requirements for cathodic protection of these structures. Results were used in constructing a single component which incorporates the anode, reference electrode, and control circuitry.
