ELECTRICAL DETERMINATION OF THE MOISTURE IN SAND
Laboratory and controlled field evaluations of three types of commercially available electric meters were conducted. The meters were designed to determine the moisture content of fine aggregates. In addition, one of the meters, meter A, was field tested on a construction project. All three of these meters measured the changing resistance of the fine aggregate with the changing amount of surface water, to the passage of a current of electricity between two electrodes. Conclusions as to the performance of the meters are given.
