CAPABILITIES AND LIMITS OF ANTILOCK SYSTEMS
MOEGLICHKEITEN UND GRENZEN VON ANTIBLOCKIERSYSTEMEN
The problems encountered with the design of conventional brake systems are dealt with by reference literature. As a result, it has been determined that the main criteria - stability, steerability and shortest possible stopping distance - cannot be met by a conventional system without reservation. This consequence leads to the development of antilock systems. The reference literature imparts a more general and in no way comprehensive survey on the development and problems of antilock systems. Section 3 deals with the generation of signals and their processing, and section 4 describes the practical ways of brake pressure control. /HSRI/
