RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT AT WEXHAM SPRINGS

The article briefly reivews the nature of the research being carried out at the research and development divisions of the Cement and Concrete Association's Wexham Spring Laboratory. Some of the projects covered include the following: model testing of reinforced concrete frames, research on reinforcement detailing, concrete bridge research, formwork research, thermal effects in concrete at early ages, concrete roads and paving, the quality of concrete in structures, mini-cylinder testing of cement strength, rapid analysis of fresh concrete, reference testing of compressive-strength testing machines, and failure mechanisms in concrete. /TRRL/
