DEFORMATION UNDER SHORT AND LONG TERM LOADING OF R.C. BEAMS AND THEIR SUSTAINED LOAD STRENGTH
Results of tests on a group of reinforced concrete beams subjected to short and long term loading are reported. Using the deformation data of these beams, sustained load strength was predicted by Shank's Creep Coefficient Methods, log-log plot and rate of strain methods. This is found to compare well with the results of direct long term tests. The long term tests have also shown that the deformation is maximum for the beam carrying a load in the vicinity of sustained load strength. /TRRL/
