Low temperature and humidity reduces the workability of bituminous mixes during the winter months. This article analyses the types of mix, compounded with medium viscosity liquid bitumens, or acid bituminous emulsions, which are suitable for cold laying, even on wet pavements - often necessary in winter when pavement defects dangerous to traffic are more frequent.
