MECHANICAL CUTTING CHARACTERISTICS OF LOWER CHALK
Details of a discussion are given following the presentation by the authors of an earlier paper concerning research into the design and development of rock boring equipment. The findings of the paper were based on cutting performance in lower-chalk material. Speakers discuss laboratory tests and full-scale projects in which various types of cutting picks and discs have been tested. Details of the research work performed at the Transport and Road Research Laboratory are also discussed. /TRRL/
