PERLITE-POLYMER CONCRETE
The article describes a long-term development program being carried out by the Brookhaven National Laboratory and the Bureau of Reclamation to investigate the development of concrete-polymer composite materials. Four distinct types of materials are being included:(A) polymer-impregnated concrete (PIC), (B) polymer-cement concrete (PCC), (C) polymer concrete (PC), and (D) precast concrete which is partially impregnated to produce an in-depth polymer coating. Based on the results given, it is concluded that a high-quality, insulating-type concrete-polymer material can be produced which could be used as a structural material. /TRRL/
