EXPERIENCES OF NEWLY DEVELOPED SET RETARDING AGENT IN JAPAN

A newly developed set-retarder has been used in various parts of construction field with a good reputation. In this article, the applications of the admixture in Japan are introduced, as well as its fundamental properties. Examples shown here are (1) Application on continuous and jointless concrete for large structures,- (2) On statically indeterminate large structures such as long-span concrete bridges - (3) On special structures such as the Dywidag; (4) On sliding or slip form process such as cylindrical concrete structures; (5) On exposed concrete for building constructions; (6) On slab concrete during the hot season; (7) In long distance transportation of ready mixed concrete on land and sea; (8) On concrete foundation piles such as Benoto and Calweld piles; (9) In the concrete placing through pumps; (10) On green-cut on joint surface of the concrete as placed, and (11) On treatment of the concrete surface as a foundation for plastering mortar. /TRRL/
