DETECTION OF CRACKS IN CONCRETE BY HOLOGRAPHY
Holographic interferometry has been used to detect hairline cracks in concrete, before normal visual detection was possible. The crack patterns on 100 mm test cubes under compression and 150 mm diameter cylinders under a diametral load have been studied, and it was possible to follow the propagation of these cracks up to failure. /Author/
