MAJOR PROGRESS ON LT FLEET LINE INCLUDING TWO STEP-PLATE JUNCTION TUNNELS
The 21-mile twin-tunnel construction linking Baker Street station on the Bakerloo Stanmore branch with the new Fleet Line tunnels bored to Strand station which incorporate two step-plate junctions, these encircling existing running bore shells which are now to be dismantled. An enterprisingly executed task enabling train running to continue with a minimum of delay.
