AGGREGATES: THE COMING CRISIS
In this article the problems of supply and demand of sand and gravel as aggregates in south east England are reviewed, particularly the problems encountered by the aggregate industry in obtaining planning permission, especially in the Thames valley. Other sources of aggregates, limestone from the mendips and sea-dredged aggreagates, are discussed, together with the need for national planning policies for aggregates. /TRRL/
