IHI "SELF-STRIP" SYSTEM FOR CARGO-OIL UNLOADING

Report on development of a new tanker cargo-oil stripping system by Ishikawajima-Harima Heavy Industries Co. Ltd. which permits the entire cargo unloading operation to be carried out solely with the main cargo pump. Advantages include easy and safe operation of main cargo oil pumps and valves, prevention of damage to pumps, elimination of stripping lines, possibility of effective replacement of conventional gas devourer for gas freeing of cargo oil tank, and economies in total unloading time.
