FLEXIBLE PAVEMENT BASE COARSE MATERIAL SELECTION IN WESTERN AUSTRALIA
Current selection criteria are discussed, and a laboratory investigation of a strength-test approach to material selection described. The results of an undrained triaxial test are compared with the index properties and field performance of a number of typical materials. This indicates the undesirability of transferring specifications, without change, from one environment to another, and also the possibility of a rational approach to material selection through the strength test. /TRRL/
