CALCULATION PROGRAMS, BASED ON THE FINITE ELEMENT METHOD, DEVELOPED BY THE LCPC ROCK MECHANICS DIVISION
PROGRAMMES DE CALCUL PAR LA METHODE DES ELEMENTS FINIS A LA SECTION DE MECANIQUE DES ROCHES DU L.C.P.C.
This article describes the state of the art of the studies and calculation programs based on the finite element method developed in the rock mechanics division. Plane, two-dimensional and three-dimensional problems can be solved in elasticity, elasto plasticity viscoelasticity etc. The calculation programs are presented in the form of elementary programs and included in a wider program which regroups some of the elementary programs. Some examples of application illustrate the accuracy and possibilities of the method.
