TESTS OF DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF HASHISH

After preliminary checks of methods and the preparation of a timetable, 6 male and 6 female subjects aged between 21 and 29 years were tested for driving skill under the influence of hashish. Apart from aptitude tests and tests relating to character to determine personality relations, for the first time driver behavior at the wheel was tested within the framework of a Gymkhana (aptitude journey), and measurements made of cycles and consumption of energy. In contrast to a control group, an increase in the number of errors made and significant behavioural trends such as carelessness and non-observance of signs were observed in subjects who had taken a daily dosage, which varied according to effect (until a "high" state was reached) of between 2.5 and 7.0 G Hashish (on average 3.5g). In association with changes in personality and slight to moderate decreases in efficiency, the results of the tests illustrate the risk exposure of drivers under the influence of Hashish.
