RELATION BETWEEN MIXING TIME AND CONCRETE MIXER TYPE
SAMBAND MELLAN BLANDNINGSTID OCH TYP AV BETONGBLANDARE
This report forms the basis of an investigation into the standardization of concrete mixers. The aim of the investigation was (1) to determine if the minimum mixing time of 1-1/2 minute, which is standard procedure at the present time, is valid for different types of concrete mixer, and (2) to develop a suitable standardized test method for concrete mixers. A study was made of the homogenization and mixing time, and of the relation between standard deviation and mixing time. Concrete mix-design was one of the factors considered in the tests in which three types of mixers were used. Details are given of the measuring techniques utilized, preparation of samples, mix-design, strength, and mixing time.
