ESPECIALLY DESIGNED SOILS-TEST MACHINE PERFORMS WORK OF 12 UNITS
The machine, which was designed for use in triaxial or dylindrical compression soil tests, is mounted on a 12-ft overhead track, and consists of a motor-propelled carriage that moves horizontally to 12 fixed locations where tests are performed. An operator is required only to start a test; hand-controlled test operations are eliminated. The overhead carriage houses all the apparatus required for determining and automatically recording soil load and deformation values in "quick" strength tests which take only 20 mins.
