MEASUREMENT OF QUICKLIME REACTIVITY
The reactivity of quicklime has become of greater importance in recent years to lime users and a considerable number of tests for this property of quicklime have been evolved. In an attempt to introduce one test, five of the tests at present in use have been examined using a range of quicklime samples. A slaking procedure which gives reproducible temperature rise having a known correlation with surface area is described and its extended use is advocated.
