BASIC PROPERTIES OF PREPACKED CONCRETE USING ALUMINA CEMENT
Tests on basic properties of mortar and prepacked concrete containing alumina cement were conducted. Specimens of mortar were tested for flow property, bleeding, expansion and setting time. The relation between water cement ratio W/(C & F) and compressive strength, and between curing age and strength were also studied. The effects of concrete admixtures, inclusive of powdered aluminum and burnt plaster, were also considered. With regard to prepacked concrete with alumina cement, the phenomenon of heat generation caused by rapid hardening was observed. The strength of specimens cured in hot water at 50 degrees C was studied together with the effect on compressive strength of the water cement ratio W/(C & F) and powdered aluminum under natural curing conditions. Also investigated was the influence of the sea water on the strength of concrete when used as mixing water for mortar or as pore water for coarse aggregate.
