CONCRETE THE MATERIAL

"Concrete the material" was the theme of the Technical Sessions of the Concrete Society Annual Convention held in Nottingham, 12-14 May 1970. The theme was discussed from two main points of view: what is wanted and what can be offered. The viewpoints of the materials engineer, the contractor, the structural engineer, the cement supplier, the natural aggregate supplier, the lightweight aggregate supplier and contractor, the concrete materials contractor, the precast concrete manufacturer and the ready-mixed concrete supplier are set out in the article.
