NEW DANISH DESIGN DIAGRAMS FOR FLEXIBLE PAVEMENTS
NEUE DAENISCHE BEMESSUNGSDIAGRAMME IM ASPHALTSTRASSENBAU
The flexible pavement design method based on the work of Kirk/Odemark was further developed for roads carrying heavy traffic. Together with subsoil bearing capacity and the elasticity modulus of the building materials it now considers traffic stress in the form of equivalent axle loads, and enable a comparative design of different types of structure, including asphaltic concrete, to be made. The principles of the method are explained and an example given of its application. /TRRL/
