DYNAMIC BEHAVIOR OF PARTIALLY CONSTRAINED SHIP GRILLAGES
A number of alternative methods of estimating natural frequencies and mode shapes for ship grillages are reviewed and developed. Particular reference is made to the inclusion of axial load effects and the treatment of elastically constrained boundaries. The advantages and limitations of each method as a practical design tool are assessed and illustrative solutions are included for a typical deck structure.
