DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF THE STEEL BRIDGES WHICH FORM PART OF THE LEIPZIG-DRESDEN MOTORWAY
ENTWURF UND BAUAUSFUEHRUNG DER STAHLBRUECKEN IM ZUGE DER AUTOBAHN LEIPZIG-DRESDEN
Taking account of important viewpoints (such as for example existing special construction capacity, short construction time, possible standardization), it was established at the beginning of the design work for the new section of motorway between leipzig and dresden that all the engineering structures at the interchanges, the large beidge over the Mulde at Grimma and a bridge over the Leipzig-Dresden railway should be manufactured in steel. A number of these structures are discussed in the article, and in particular the Mulde bridge at Grimma, the alignment of which passes at a height of approximately 25 m over the valley, with a radius of 1800 m. The use of steel in the individual structures is indicated in talbe. /TRRL/
