The author uses results obtained from an experimental section on the National Road 4 to illustrate the advantages of the full-septh asphalt method which - calculated over a period of 20 years - brings about a 40 percent saving in costs. Technical advnatages are proved by data on subsoil tests, especially tests with the Benkelman Beam. /TRRL/
