MODERN DREDGING PRACTICE USING CENTRIFUGAL PUMPS
The paper introduces the main types of centrifugal pump dredgers at present in use, their limitations and applications. The accepted empirical rules for sizing and designing a centrifugal pump dredging installation are detailed. Centrifugal pump dredging can be carried out either by a special dredging pump or by a standard centrifugal pump circulating water through a jet or ejector, and some special features in the design of each type are discussed.
