Bismarck Mandan 2000 Travel Demand Model Update

The Advanced Traffic Analysis Center (ATAC) at the Upper Great Plains Transportation Institute, North Dakota State University worked with the Bismarck-Mandan Metropolitan Planning Organization on updating the regional travel demand model. The work included updating the Geographic Information System (GIS)-based network and calibrating the model using 2000 traffic data. The network link speed and capacity calculations were refined. Bismarck State College and the Bismarck Airport were added as Special Generators in the model. Finally, the model was implemented using the TP+ software (an upgrade from the old Tranplan model).
