MATHEMATICALLY DESIGNED FORM OF POLYHEDRAL STRAIGHT-ELEMENT SHIP HULLS
MATHEMATISCHE FORMDEFINITION VON POLYDERSCHIFFEN
The tendency to build ships with comparatively low resistance and low cost has resulted in the development of polyhedral ships, made of flat plates. This article describes the mathematical approach in solving the problem of most rational form of a ship. Because polyhedral ships are designed by the number of edges, the mathematical formulas are developed from that standpoint. A systematic form development is dependent on edge variations.
