BEHAVIORAL EVALUATION OF PEDESTRIAN SAFETY COUNTERMEASURES
Countermeasures and countermeasure effectiveness was studied with particular emphasis on a series of behavioral studies designed to determine the extent to which nine selected countermeasures affect those vehicular and pedestrian behaviors most often associated with a particular type of accident. The data, was examined from an accident data collection system established in six cities including Akron and Toledo. The data base and supplementary forms designed to specifically obtain information from the accident report forms of the participating cities, reveal pedestrian and vehicular behaviors associated with the pedestrian accident.
