SOME ASPECTS OF THE DESIGN OF LARGE SLIPWAYS

The paper describes the design and construction of a 1200 t capacity slipway for the Marine Board of Hobart in Great Britain. The landward and underwater ways, haulage equipment and cradle are described and a summary of costs is included. A feasibility study for a 10,000 t slipway.
