SOME STUDIES ON STEAM CURING OF CEMENT MORTAR
The paper deals with some studies on low pressure steam cured cement mortar. The effects of the delay period and of rapid rise of temperature and gradual rise of temperature on the compression and bending strengths of concrete have been investigated for various delay periods ranging from 30 minutes to 7 hours 30 minutes. The effect of a predetermined load applied on the moulds during steam curing has also been studied. The influence of the speed of heating on compression and bending strengths is illustrated in the paper graphically. It is concluded that the delay period is an important factor which influences the properties of steam-cured mortar.
