FIELD TEST ON SHRINKAGE COMPENSATED CEMENT CONCRETE
FALTFORSOK MED KRYMPKOMPENSERAD BETONG
Six full scale concrete structures made in the field with shrinkage compensated Portland cement are described. The degree of expansion of the cement used was 0.05 percent for four of the structures and 0.09 percent for the remaining two. Particularly studied was the effect of water curing on cracking and recorded crack widths of the structures (most of which were floors and slabs resting on the underground), and on the linear expansion of prisms which were made of the same concrete and stored on the site. The results confirm the importance of adequate water curing for the full development of concrete linear expansion and for preventing the structure from cracking.
