AMBULANCES
LES TRANSPORTS SANITAIRES
After reviewing the various decrees and circulars concerning the organization of first aid services in France, the author assesses the present system, and stresses the inportance of speed and suspension in ambulances. Attention is drawn to the increasing use of helicopters for the transport of casualties and the creation of a network of heliports within or near hospital grounds. A map of France shows the location of hospitals with surgical units, and of hosptials with first aid transport facilities.
