CONCRETE MANUFACTURE AT THE OTTENSHEIM-WILHERING PLANT ON THE DANUBE
DIE BETONHERSTELLUNG BEIM DONAUKRAFTWERK OTTENSHEIM-WILHERING
Details are given of an electronic mixing device incorporating nuclear measurement of moisture which was buitl into the concrete mixing plant at Ottensheim- Wilhering. The device was devleoped by the oesterreichische Donaukraftwerke ag and two other firms, and its aim was to keep the water/cement ratio of each mixture uniform, ie exclude the influence of the fluctuating moisture content of the aggregates, so as to decrease the standard deviation in compressive strength and maintain uniformity of other properties. The device successfully improved the accuracy and efficiency of the plant. /TRRL/
