THE CONSIDERATION THAT PUBLIC TRANSPORT PASSENGERS HAVE A RIGHT TO AN INDIVIDUALLY PROPORTIONAL SHARE OF AVAILABLE GREEN TIME IN TRAFFIC CONTROL HAS LED TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF A VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION AND PRIORITY SYSTEM (VIPS). A SUB-PROJECT SET UP IN DELFT IS DESCRIBED AND THE ULTIMATE SCHEME AND RESULTS IN THE FINAL STAGE ARE REVIEWED.
