LIMIT CAPABILITIES OF COMBINED BRAKING SYSTEMS
LEISTUNGSGRENZEN KOMBINIERTER BREMSSYSTEME
The article deals with brake systems of high-speed trains, the main attention focussing on braking to complete stop. Assuming low axle drive masses, it is shown that safe braking from speeds up to 350 km/hr, is possible by means of different combined brake systems. In this connection, the eddy-current brake is of particular importance for attaining short stopping distances.
