HEMPEL'S HYDRON DYNAMIC UNDERWATER PAINT SYSTEM
This article describes a water-absorbent micro-smooth acrylic resin overlay which, by promoting the formation of a thickerlaminar sub-layer, results in greatly lowered resistance to propulsion, while allowing the bio-active elements of the base anti-fouling paint to leach through unhampered. Details of how this underwater coating system protects the anti-fouling coating on the hull is briefly discussed, and possible economic savings that could be achieved by utilizing this coating are also mentioned.
