DYNAMIC STATIONED DRILL SHIP SEDCO 445
Discusses the development and operation of the SEDCO 445's dynamic stationing system during the past three years. In particular, the presentation includes a description of the dynamic stationing components and how they operate; a review of the preliminary design and trial stage; and a discussion of how the system has performed while drilling exploration wells. A description of day to day operations covering the positioning sensors, acoustic systems and vessel "drive off" analysis is included. Concluding statements summarize the potential uses of dynamic stationing as an effective deepwater mooring system for the offshore petroleum industry.
