NEW, HIGHER ACCURACIES FOR SATELLITE-DERIVED OFFSHORE POSITIONING
The technical discussion in this paper is divided into two basic parts. The first part deals with satellite positioning for moving users, including the theoretical basis for velocity-insensitive signal processing, implementation, and results of processing at-sea data. The second part covers another area of satellite positioning: high-accuracy three-dimensional (3D) surveying using a number of passes over a fixed site. A new iterative batch processor for 3D is described and its characteristics compared with those of the sequential method.
