DYNAMIC RANDOM ANALYSIS OF FIXED OFFSHORE PLATFORMS
An outline of a method that can be used to examine the structural dynamics of fixed offshore platforms is presented. Both the dynamic and random nature of the environmental loads are preserved in the analysis. In particular, loadings resulting from the action of random waves are treated as dynamic excitations and investigated using a combination of spectral analysis and lumped mass modal technique. Other loadings resulting from gravity, wind and current forces are also considered.
