PLATFORM DESIGN IS GEARED FOR SAFETY
Newer platforms in the Gulf of Mexico are built to handle oil and gas production as safely as possible. The main feature of these newer platforms is a bulkhead extending from one side of a platform to the other--from floor to ceiling--to physically separate wellheads from all production-handling equipment.
