NORTHWIND: FIRST BULK CARRIER VERSION OF SANTA FE TYPE
The first bulk carrier version of the Santa Fe class of vessel can carry containers above and below deck, having a capacity for 268 (20 ft ISO) units. The hatch covers have been designed to accept two tiers of containers. An Euskalduna-MAN engine having an output of 9800 bhp at 140 rpm gave this vessel a trial speed at maximum draught, of 16.10 knots. Northwind is also fully fitted for navigation in the St. Lawrence Seaway.
