INVESTIGATIONS OF THE STABILITY OF ANODES MADE OF GVS MATERIAL FOR THE CATHODIC PROTECTION OF SEA-GOING SHIPS
Anodes were fabricated from pressed compositions of graphitic copolymers, having high strength properties, a low open porosity and a finely granular structure with a uniform pore distribution. Two-test anodes were produced by heat treating at 900 C. and up to 2300-2400 C. The stability of the anode heat treated at high temperatures was more than ten times that of the other anode. Its structure is dense, strong, small-pored and characterized by a fine-grain structure.
