ALLOCATION OF MANHATTAN AIR TRAFFIC - VERTIPORT VERSUS STOL PORT
An analysis has been made of the allocation to alternate V/STOL terminal sites of short-haul inter-city air passengers originating or terminating in Manhattan. Port of New York Authority traffic distribution data has been used, and traffic allocated to the terminal requiring the least access time by taxi during peak traffic hours. Also developed are contour maps of access times and of time saved for various combinations of vertiports and stolports as well as cumulative distributions of time saved and fare saved.
