AIRPORTS AND THE COMMUNITY: AN AIRLINE VIEW

During the past two decades, air traffic in the United States has been doubling approximately every five years. The increased volume has resulted in airport congestion. If the congestion increases, it will make air transportation less attractive and impair the future growth prospects of the industry. This paper attempts to describe the congestion problem, to determine its scope and to suggest some of the solutions.
