EFFECT OF CONTAINERIZATION ON AIR CARGO COSTS
It is feasible to develop a Cargo rate structure which gives full credit to the savings attained through decreasing individual piece handlings. This, by providing a fundamental incentive for unitizing shipments at the source, would decrease the total cost of distribution for air cargo for a given traffic volume without decreasing profit to the carriers.
