STANDARD METHOD OF ESTIMATING COMPARATIVE DIRECT OPERATING COSTS OF TURBINE POWERED VTOL TRANSPORT AIRCRAFT
The objective of a standard method for estimating direct operating costs for VTOL aircraft is to provide a means for assessing and comparing the operating economics of competitive aircraft in a standard environment. To accomplish that objective, the method developed gives an average value for the operation of a VTOL aircraft in a typical airline environment. As such, it does not necessarily represent the actual cost for a given aircraft on a specific route structure.
