A NEW COATING MATERIAL FOR TEST SPECIMENS
VULJEX L21, EEN NIEUW OMBULLINGSMATERIAAL
As an alternative for the paraffin used for coating test specimens in bulk specific gravity determinations (ASTM D1188), an emulsion of vulcanized latex has been tested. This material can be removed from the specimen more easily, more quickly, and more completely than paraffin. If the specimen is subsequently used for a Marshall test, previous coating with paraffin may influence the test results, which is not the case with latex coating. /TRRL/
