CARGO HANDLING - COST IS THE KEY TO NEW GENERATION EQUIPMENT

All large operating companies are seriously worried about the third major phase of air freight development Problems in all main sectors of this part of the industry look so enormous today that they might well lead to a temporary eclipse of all cargo development. Mistakes made in the past with obsolescent aircraft and low-cost ground equipment could be inexpensively written off as development costs. But in the third generation these things will be different. Costs in whatever direction a company takes are bound to be high. There is no room for mistakes and, complicating future decisions there are are decided signs of atrophy in air cargo growth.
